About Us

Berhan Cultural and Education Center is a not-for-profit association that is operated & managed by parents and volunteers. Due to language and educational barriers, many new immigrant students cannot solely rely on their parents for education assistance. Berhan seeks to offer a support system so the students can learn, grow, and excel as new Canadians. We offer English, Amharic, Mathematics, and STEM & Coding classes.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower the young East African Nova Scotians with knowledge and essential skills to become successful in what they do in life. We believe Berhan School is uniquely equipped to assist these students as most of our teachers are also from the region.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see our students challenge social norms, overcome different barriers, and become who they want to be.
